In 1967 Sifu Elmond Leung began his WingTsun Kung Fu journey in Hong Kong. At that time, the late Great Grandmaster Yip Man had opened a new program to attract younger students to his school on Nathan Road. After training for a short period of time, work took him away from martial arts practice. Upon returning to the school, he discovered it was being run by a gifted young sifu named Leung Ting.

In those days, Leung Ting personally conducted classes at his school on a daily basis. The school on Nathan Road still operates in Hong Kong to this day. Sifu Elmond studied with Grandmaster Leung Ting until Sifu Elmond's family immigrated to the United States in 1974. Prior to leaving Hong Kong, Sifu Elmond attained the Third Level Technician ranking.

Those who have met Sifu Elmond quickly recognize that he has genuine WingTsun knowledge and a master's skill level. Many of Studio WingTsun's instructors have benefited from his expertise and experience, and seek out Sifu Elmond for private instruction on a regular basis.
